About us
In 2019, we – Roger and Katinka Erkens – embarked on a new adventure in the countryside around Oeffelt: creating a small-scale equestrian centre comprising a horse boarding facility, a horse breeding programme and a bed and breakfast. In 2023, planning permission was granted for a B&B, and construction of the B&B began in autumn 2024. The B&B was completed in early 2026. It is available for bookings and groups of up to 10 people.
Come and enjoy a wonderful holiday whilst bringing your horse along, and go for lovely walks or bike rides. Share this beautiful spot, our passion for horses, and enjoy nature and each other’s company.
Who are we?
Katinka has been passionate about horses since she was a child. A birthday card she received for her 7th birthday already hinted at her desire: ‘Sorry, I didn’t have a card with a horse on it, unfortunately’. She never thought this could become a reality. Katinka works in Marketing & Communications in the business sector.
Roger works as an accountant at an accountancy firm. He is also an entrepreneur through and through and is always on the go. He is also our Facilities Manager, responsible for maintenance and management. As he’s very handy, we carry out as much as possible ourselves, and he embarked on this journey with a clear goal in mind.
Our animals
In 2012, we became the proud owners of a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog. A wonderfully headstrong breed and a lovely dog who loves company. In 2019, a second Greater Swiss Mountain Dog joined us. In February 2023, we had to say goodbye to our Tara. In December 2023, Luna gained another companion: Liesje. They enjoy the space and regularly greet visitors and passers-by.
After years of helping to look after other people’s horses, owning ‘our own horse’ became a reality in 2019: a beautiful KWPN mare. In the spring of 2020, a yearling pony – a Welsh Cob x Haflinger cross – joined the herd. In July 2023, our mare gave birth to a beautiful filly, Tinkerbelle, with superb bloodlines including Bon Bravour, Ferro and Krack C on the dam’s side, and Lowlands, Milennium and Easy Game on the sire’s side.
